A story about a wedding gift, a late night and some unlocked doors won me last night’s Story Slam.

My friend Muriel made this video about my webcomic. You can see me drawing a comic inspired by one of Cari Ann Wayman’s photos. Muriel wrote some more about why she made the video on Confabulator Cafe.

Those are my stepdad’s fishing lures in the background. We shot the video while I was home in Kansas. It’s just a tiny part of his crazy collection of antique lures.
