The Social Reckoning was good. Saw it tonight. I like how they go back and forth in time. That's smart. Builds up well.
Frances Haugen is showing dressing like a hooker (like, actually intending to look like one) when she goes and sees Jeff Horwitz, the WSJ guy. That's got to be made up Hollywood goofiness, right? It's so overdone. It's a lot.
Still though. Makes you love journalism.
It is really true that people will come to journalists with story ideas and then when we're like: "How would I prove that?" They say: "Aren't you supposed to be a reporter?"
The way reporting works is: Someone gives reporters proof. That's the whole job.
If you tell them you can't share something you know but they should just find it, that just means they are going to ask other people. But those people will probably refuse. Someone has to be the one to tell them. That's the whole job! That's it! Someone gives us proof and we write it up!
